face-to-face interaction

face-to-face interaction
The process in which co-present individuals influence each other's actions; or, as it is defined by Erving Goffman (in The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life, 1959), ‘the reciprocal influence of individuals upon one another's actions when in one another's immediate physical presence’.
